It's a case of that a person doesn't want to go loot, but if they don't go loot, they'll be the only person without a chicken, so they go along so they get something instead of nothing.
The next person see's this, and has the same rationale. And so on.
Morality and ethics won't put food on the table, life is also made up of people making good choices and not being recognized - we are all condemning the looters, but the people who are innocent vicitms in the community(and who didn't go loot) mean nothing to us.
