Mybb Island would be a much more entertaining show. Imagine the forumites in this thread stuck somewhere together. I’d binge that.

We’ll have the chump, farcefate and excraplibur for racial diversity. I hope I got their names right.

The episode has been pulled from catch up but apparently available online. Anyone with a link can PM me. Thanks.

Honestly they should just stop adding white people in any program or advert. Change the cast from 7de Laan to an all black cast. Get it over with.

I visited the family yesterday and they were watching some soapie on one of the Afrikaans channels. I soon noticed that every cast member is a coloured and wondered where the hell are the boere.

That's fine though according to the same people who moaned about Love Island.

Kinda makes sense though. Aren't Coloureds the largest Afrikaans-speaking demographic?

My manager is Coloured and he only watches Afrikaans shows.

There are no black Africans who speak Afrikaans?

I never made that claim. I said I believed that Coloureds are the majority Afrikaans-speakers and it makes perfect sense when a movie/TV series is geared toward a target audience.

Not disagreeing with you but I think this socialist utopia runs off national racial demographics as opposed to linguistic demographics.

I done some Googling.

Number of Afrikaans-speakers in SA: 6,855,082 - Source

Number and percentage of Coloureds that speak Afrikaans as a first language - 3,442,164 or 76% of the Coloured population*
Number and percentage of White South Africans that speak Afrikaans as a first language - 2,710,461 or 60.8% of the White South Africans population*
Number and percentage of Black South Africans that speak Afrikaans as a first language - 602,166 or 1.5% of the Black South African population*

*Source for the above data.

You would just be hitting your biggest market by loading up with a Coloured cast. Sounds like good business.

Definitely good business case. So similar in principle then to any show that is loaded with whites then if whites are the target market for that show.
