Cheapest portable power stations to fight load-shedding

South African residents looking to escape load-shedding by powering a few essential appliances can get a portable power station for as little as R2,399.

MyBroadband compared pricing, capacity, and charging times for the cheapest portable power stations available in the country.

Anyone buying an Ecoflow River for R5998 is mad coz it is Li Ion
The newer Ecoflow River 2 model is R4500 or less and uses the LiFeP04 which is way better and safer to use.

PowerUp 500W unit at R3,999 from Takealot where? Today's (article date's) prices..

PowerUp’s 500W unit at R3,999 from Takealot.

It offers a power output of 500W, storage capacity of 5128Wh, and fully recharges in nine-and-a-half hours.

5KWh? Impressive.

Quite a useful quick comparison - recharge times are easy to forget about.

Battery chemistry & claimed cycles has been mentioned as a subject of interest.
Pure or Modified Sine wave might also be good to know?

No I think someone has smoked their own unwashed socks.

I highly doubt you will find a 5128Wh battery for R3999

Although small, we love our River 2 with the newer LiFeP04 safe batteries and the Ecoflow portable 110 Watt solar panel. Very good value and it keeps us going no problem during loadshedding with the 300 Watt inverter. Plenty of power to keep the tv and internet going with a lounge light. We got ours on Black Friday for R3500

What plugin do you use for that price graph?

I have never heard of this brand name before until today
It's been on takealot quite a while, seen the 150 one going as low as R1499, but it's apparently modified sine wave.

It’s interesting that no matter the brand or size you generally pay R10 per Wh of capacity.

I dont mind modified sine wave for all the stuff in the lounge, no problems at all.
