Low risk of a third COVID-19 wave in South Africa in next two weeks, new AI-based model shows

An Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based algorithm developed by the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) has shown there is a low risk of a third wave of COVID-19 infections across South Africa in the next two weeks.

The early detection system – which was designed in partnership with iThemba Labs, the Gauteng Provincial Government, and Canada’s York University – predicts future daily confirmed cases based on historical data of previous infections in the country.

It recognises an additional wave when the actual value of daily cases deviates from the predicted value for each province in South Africa.

Wait they need to run this until it gets them the answers they want.

Lol at Mybb. Critical of models when things look bad, and keen to publish models when things are looking good.

... and now ladies and gentlemen, let's hear from the esteemed Mybroadband experts.
. You are one of them. Don't be shy to share your expert opinion!

The dilemma now is whether to take the experimental vaccines (and risk some nasty side effects) or take my chances with the corona.

Didn't the first wave really only Kickoff in late winter?

A CO2 fire extinguisher also works for CORONA. Every time some uninvited rural krappie storms into my office I point and they run away.

We need this AI to determine why cases of Influenza reduced to almost nonexistent levels.

It's not as bad as people say, but definitely try it with a slice of lime

Lol, these models have been all over the place with covid.
Truly has a mind of its own. Experts have been wrong time and time again with it.

We don't, it only does what it's told to do within it's parameters. I always think of life and AI as a bunch of what if statements.

This sounds just like any sales forecasting tool that has been available for the last 30 years or so.
