LPI Exam Special R675 for 25 June 2011!

Why not quote the the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me Tux?

LPI is arranging a once off exam special on the Saturday. 25thJune 2011. For one day only exams will be R675!. To assist with preparations for this exam we are holding:

Online training from 20 - 22 June from 19:00-20:30 for R950
1 Day cram session Friday 24th June for R1,350

Sorry about that. Wasn't done intentionally, although in hindsight, it would have indeed been a devilish devious marketing move if it had been premeditated :) Let me know if you would like any other type of Linux training.

For those who can't make the exam session here is a creative commons LPI Level 1 training text book I helped write. Since its under creative commons anyone get help bug fix the book. Any feedback welcome.

Let me speak to the master affiliate and see what they can do but I think it will be a problem for them. (Sorry, just don't want to get your hopes up.) Will get back to you as soon as I hear anything.

Wow, thanks, that would be great, as wanted to do RHCE, but couldn't find any training locally and had to postpone RHCE until my current projects are completed and I have some time available to attend the three one week RHCA / RHCE sessions in JHB.

Just to let you know I am still waiting for a response from the LPI master affiliate. The exams are paper based, as they are cheaper than the electronic exams, and the will need to find a proctor in Bloemfontein. I assume this is why its taking them long to get back to me. Will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

Currently if one completed the Comptia Linux+ exams you get the LPI 1 cert as well. As you have the LPI 1 cert you automatically qualify for the NCLA (Novell Certified Linux Admin). Hence 1 exam = 3 cert's. Does this discount apply to the Compita exams as well as I'd rather get 3 certs for the price of 1 than 2 for the price of 1.

Hi jsheed_sa,

I know you get the NCLA with LPI 1 but not sure about the Linux+. Will follow up. Will be a bit odd if the relationship is not symmetric, in the mathematical sense. This press release says its the same exam as LPI101 and LPI102 though. The special does not apply to the Comptia exam.

The event went well on Saturday. Had a bright bunch of guys write and they are confident they all passed! Hopefully they can try LPI level 2 soon. We will try and organise another event with the master affiliate. Hopefully before next year :)
