It was a crap decision by Apple to cave in to the carriers (AT&T specifically). Apple has normally been the one company to resist the carriers. And now they suddenly capitulate. Weird
The only change is that Jobs is dead.
Apple invented LTE, they can call it what ever the hell they want.
The only change is that Jobs is dead.
Unfortunately I suspect that is exactly the reason
No they didn't. They just have some of the patents that are part of the LTE patent pool.
This is simply capitulating to AT&T. Very poor form
"The standard is developed by the 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project) and is specified in its Release 8 document series, with minor enhancements described in Release 9." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3GPP_Long_Term_EvolutionApple invented LTE, they can call it what ever the hell they want.
You guys make it sound like Jobs scared them s***less.
Wonder what would happen If Cellc Takes on apple...?
they lost the 4G battle?
only seems fair...i can just see the advertising posters...4G and all...
“In South Africa it became an issue, firstly because of Cell C blurring the lines with their ‘4GS’ term, and secondly because the Advertising Standards Authority has seen itself as the arbiter of such definitions in advertising materials,” said Goldstuck.
I will have none of your revisionist nonsense.
