Hi

Ive noticed that during a storm/inclement weather my LTE router loses the 4G signal, however it still connects to the 3G network.
My router say 'connected to 3G' by at the sametime says 'disconnected', and I do not have access to the internet.
And only when the 4G connection is restored does my internet connection return.
Please advise on how I can resolve this issue?

Thanks

Install an external X-Pol antenna. You can buy from Poynting, they will advise you on which one.

Thanks.
I actually received one from Telkom, but still waiting for them to send someone to install the antenna.
I hope this will solve my problem.

Quick question though- Why would my router be connected to the 3G network, but at the sametime not connected to the internet?

A properly installed antenna can make a rather dramatic difference to the quality of your connection.

The unlimited package is only provisioned on LTE; whilst the SIM will still register on 3G it won't transmit or receive any data. You can mitigate the situation somewhat be forcing the router to LTE only in its connection settings.

I tested my speeds in an insane storm about a month ago and was very happy with the speeds 40mb+ but im using the antenna so it should help you. Unless the towers LTE actually went down then it wouldn't help.
