Watching the Stormers play today made me realize how much the South Africa hates Luke Watson. The booing from the crowd and the punches from the other players.

Well as a human being and Stormers fan I'd like to go out on a limb here and say that he does not deserve to be punched, booed, or disrespected.

It's actually pretty sad. On the one hand he should've kept his mouth shut and keep on playing good rugby (not 1 bad game the whole Super14). On the other hand the crowd reaction is/was understandable due to his comments about the Green, but I thought by now they would've gotten over it. Wife (Born and bred Freestater) and I actually joked that, being in Bloem, they probably just heard his Bok jersey comments now I'm not a Luke Watson The Man fan, but as a rugby player I have no problem with him

Everyone has an off day at work, maybe the Bok jersey comment was one of those days... There are stupid things and there are downright ridiculous things. He made racial slurs and comments that are terribly unpatriotic and people are making him pay for it. He isn't just anyone. He is a role model to millions of kids around SA. He should be a bit more mature and intelligent about how he potrays himself while in the public eye.

Seems to me you lost track of the rugby fanatics. They will never forget and forever haunt him unless he quickly becomes a rugby superstar.

I'm sorry, but I am an afrikaner, and what he said about afrikaners in rugby just shows how much disgust he has for me and other afrikaners.

Luke should publically apologize for some of the things he said. As a player he has put ears on some of the "Bok candidates" this season. Just watching how he dealt with Brussouw yesterday makes you wonder how some players tend to be easily distracted and forget about playing the ball...

My apologies for bringing politics into a sport thread.

I realise he has nothing to do with rugby but my statement was to prove just how hypocritical South Africans can be. What makes one statement forgivable and another statement not?
