Good day guys,

I need help and suggestions on the following:

Setup like this.

One MacBook Air, MacOS Leopard with WinXP in VMWare Fusion environment.

Issues As Follows:

1.) When XP is running in VMware, Kernal_task shoots up to 55% to 65% of processor resources. When you see the info of that task it is reporting faults to the max. Up to ±12000 per task. When you have a look at the info for VMWare Fusion it is reporting up to a million faults at this stage.

Clarity on faults please?? I don't know much, I only started working with Mac this week :(

2.) Still the MacBook Air... The user I am supporting Mac for have been complaining that when it is getting fairly hot in his office, the Air becomes very very slow. Now, apparently, this is quite the issue with the MacBooks that is does tend to overheat if not in the right environment. His Aircon went to **** and now his Mac is starting to get really hot.

Somewhere he read that Mac will be release a patch/update that will make the Air running at a lower temperature. I want know if this is true or not and where can I download it.

Guys, feedback would be fkn great on this.

Regards,

1. Two OS's running on one piece of hardware, expect the Mac to slow down, if you're not getting kernel error's on the mac then it's normal.

2. Use a app called SMCFanControl, you can create a profile called "Summer" and set the fan to run at full speed untill his aircon is sorted.

mmm.. I protect my mac with proteMac NetMine

What on earth are these applications, honestly have no idea what you're talking about?

I agree, get smcfancontrol. Which version of fusion are you running? The Macbook air is slow because of it's hard drive. If you can get an SSD it would help tremendously. That said 1.8" ZIF ssds are quite rare. Ssung just announced some new ones, but if your MacBook Air is PATA forget it.
