I’m not sure if it uses the L shape charger or older square one

I've never had good experiences with non Apple MacBook chargers.

Best bet - buy a new one, or a refurbished, or see of you can find one 2nd hand.

Mine too. Charger and laptop battery are perfect.
I just need a spare to work in warm winter room and main one is under a desk stuck on with 2 way tape.

I had a 2015 Macbook Pro that was going strong, until the cat dropped a @$*% 12v battery from a shelf above the machine on top of the machine.

Outsurance paid out and bought an Air with USB-C charger.

Unfortunately already gave the old charger away to a colleague at work. This was the replacement "refurbished" charger I bought on Amazon a couple of years ago since the original stopped working.

Remember you can buy Macsafe 1 to 2 converters, but I'm guessing both here might be Magsafe 1.

There was 2 versions of magsafe 1 too, but generally were compatible with one-another.

My Pro Mid 2012 is still going strong.

My Dell Vostro 3500 i3 (ship date 15 Sept 2011) is still going strong. I did put in a SSD 2 years back.
