Hi...
My MacBook Pro has been giving me some problems from yesterday. I cannot visit gmail or google reader... All other sites works fine, just those two that doesn't want to work. I have a Windows PC as well, and that goes onto the all sites just fine. I am using Safari on both computers and the settings are identical, I am not blocking any sites as far as I know...

Anyone with a clue what I can try next?

Does it work from another browser? Camino perhaps?

Check your Proxy settings, it should be |*.local, 169.254/16|

Create a new network profile. Start from scratch and dont just duplicate the existing one.

Try flushing your cache - from the terminal dscacheutil -flushcache

Or delete the org.mozilla.firefox.plist preference file under /user/Library/Preferences and open firefox again.

sudo dscacheutil -flushcache

That did something, but also didn't work. Still don't know what Firefox and Safari won't work, but Camino works fine...
Camino opens gmail, but then it just disconnects, google reader works fine though

Also try fixing the permissions using the disk utility.

Edit, it's best to close all application's when fixing the permissions.

No viruses... Just means I still don't know what is wrong... Uninstalled Safari and Firefox, will try to reinstall it and see if that works.

Nope, even that doesn't work... very very strange... don't know what else to try...
Reinstalled Safari, repaired permission, made new network... maybe reset router?

Nope, not even resetting the router helped.
Both Safari and Firefox just won't load gmail or reader, but Camino load both, but then gmail doesn't work but google reader works fine. I downloaded Google Notification for Mac, and that works fine. So, it isn't my connection or wireless setup or anything like that (everything still works on my Windows PC). All the settings on my Windows PC and my Mac are identical, I don't know what to try next...

Anyone maybe tell me how to put a password on my router? After I reset it, there is no security on it, so anybody can access my wireless now. Gigabyte router, I already accessed the admin page of the router but cannot get a password setup, don't know why.

Error message in Safari when I go to gmail: "Safari can’t open the page “http://www.gmail.com/” because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again."

You're using telkom (SAIX)?
