Hi All

Does anyone else have this problem? I needed to send out a mail (smtp server is set to mail.saix.net) to most of the contacts in my address book (56 receipients) and I receive an error message saying that I am sending to too many recepients. I then split my contact list in half and received the same error. [:(!] [:(!] [:(!]

Does saix limit the amount of recepients you can send mail to? If so, whats the limit?

If this is their policy, where is the Icasa email address I can complain to, 'cause right now Telkom is infringing on my constitutional right to communicate with my friends and clients.

Personally I think Steve White should be forced to use the cr*ppy DSL service he sells for the rest of his days, capped! [}:)] He has no idea of the internet hell he inflicts on his customers. O would that the SNO were here!

Thanks in advance

Nick

Quite a few ISPs implement recipient caps on their smtp servers to reduce spam. Your only real option if you need to send to many people regularly is to set your PC up as an smtp server so it sends mail directly to the recipients.

No that wont help you either, most (see "all") mail servers reject mail from dynamic IP's to reduce spam.

SAIX does limit the amount of senders to 20 and they are perfectly in there right to do it (in fact I do not know an ISP in this country that does not have a limit set). ICASA and ISPA will both back SAIX on this on as they are not infringing on any of your rights anywhere.
You have 2 choices from this point, 1 get a mailing list service. A lot of places offer them, which allow you to send to lots of people, 2 break your email up into smaller groups of people.

get a program called group mail. it is free and sends the mail "personally" so you don't recieve a email with 56 email address's on it. it is only addressed to you. that way it is not considered spam and you can happily send away to ur 56 address's
