Makro Pick-up lockers coming to McDonald’s and Sasol - photos, details

Meh, I would rather walk into the store, make a decision, have a good look and buy it there.

Unless they roll this out in towns or areas without a Makro, I don't think people will be using this service much.

I think this will be a hit. I often buy online and if I could have my parcel delivered to a Sasol garage near me, I can stop by after work to pick it up. No worries about Makro being closed.
 
So why this and not door to door delivery ? probably a little cheaper...

Challange to hack the system accepted... LOL (how hard can it be to tell the thing to open the door....)
 
This is is a good idea. I rearly have someone at home for deliveries and I dont always want my stuff delivered to the office. So i can see myself using this a lot. But whats up with the R30 extra charge?

They still do door to door deliveries, this is cheaper and it also great if you aren't available to take a delivery.

I would rather use Takealot then, delivery to the office or house. Because based on the size of the locker, you cant order a lawn-mower, TV, Fridge, Patio Set etc.

The problems with Takelot is that is it Push delivery. You either have to be home, or make sure someone at the office can sign and keep it for you. This concept is more of a Pull Method - they deliver it, and you can get it safely - at your own time and convenience.
 
I see lots of cameras on that Sasol shot, that's good but i'm starting to realise cctv footage is now only becoming useful for the next " robbery caught on camera" youtube clip. Won't really stop the idgits from attempting to break in
