South African communications minister meets with Starlink

Communications minister Solly Malatsi has met with representatives from Starlink to discuss a potential investment into South Africa.

Based on his early discussions with the SpaceX-operated satellite Internet service, the minister suggested that South Africa examine telecoms regulations impeding digital inclusion, for the overall benefit of the sector and the country.

You see that man sitting on the other side of the table - he wants a brown envelope.

Any electronic transaction, is easily traced and followed by SARS

Most will be in brown paper bags.

But also you overestimate the competency of SARS.

In spite of an active online presence in banking, financial institutions, online stores, etc, etc, SARS classified me as deceased a few years ago, and they steadfastly refuse to change this classification.

IMO they are grossly incompetent.

WE DEMAND 30%.
I demand meritocracy.

Smartest, brightest, hardest working, people with ability and talent should be first and win.
30% HDG/BEE does nothing to improve ZA competitive and is an "albatross around the neck" of the economy.

Keep in mind that these companies (ISP, Fibre, Satellite) were started after 1994 election.
They had nothing to do with the pre-1994 but are being made to pay.

Any details on who was identified as the required BEE partner?

If SARS, wants to go after you, enjoy!!

Whether they will, or not, is another story.
