What shot it down?
Guessing the shoulder one - no cars or trucks or permanent structure?

Just snapped this on flightradar. That's a big hole...

Yeah, sorry I never made it clear. It was a screenshot I took last night. Just interesting to see the only flight over Ukraine was indeed the one heading for Kiev.

Talk about closing the stable door after the horse has bolted :erm:

Well if you had a couple hundred horses still left in the stable, then yes - closing the stable door would be the obvious thing to do.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolo...overnment-edits-Wikipedia-on-flight-MH17.html

A political battle has broken out on Wikipedia over an entry relating to the crash of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, with the Russian government reportedly removing sections which accuse it of providing "terrorists" with missiles that were used to down the civilian airliner.
A Twitter bot which monitors edits made to the online encyclopaedia from Russian government IP addresses (unique numbers relating to certain computers or networks) has spotted that changes are being made to a page relating to the crash.
It appears that an internet user from within the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) changed a Russian language version of a page listing civil aviation accidents to say that "The plane [flight MH17] was shot down by Ukrainian soldiers".

That edit replaced text – written just an hour earlier - which said MH17 had been shot down "by terrorists of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic with Buk system missiles, which the terrorists received from the Russian Federation."

Perhaps, but I'd imagine after this catastrophe that Ukrainian airspace is as safe as anywhere. No way another plane is coming down in that vicinity.

What airline is going to risk flying over Ukraine? And who is going to buy tickets from an airline that does?

Whatever the Republicans would do.

Get into a battle they can't win.

Putting NATO troops on the ground in Eastern Ukraine to flush out the "rebels/seperatists" aka Russian troops is most certainly a battle that can be won. It's also something Putin can't respond to without looking like the bad guy.

The Independent is the only paper of those that doesn't have a disgusting front page layout. It's hard to believe professional designers are behind them.

Oh dear, another Putinbot.

Shame, Putin really doesn't like it when he can't dictate what the truth is.

The other 94 were the days-dead corpses that were drained of blood, according to crackpot theories.

Not sure what you're insinuating, I'm posting a perfectly decent bit of information?

A few posts up, there's a link to a news24 (that bastion of decent journalism) where the article states that the pro-russia Igor Girkin said the site was littered with long-dead bodies.

Its here Wiki

Showing two different versions, the rebels version where the plane was shot down by a Ukrainian Su-25 which the wiki article is critical about and then the BUK version.
