If this happened to Lufthansa and I was its leader I would have closed my borders to Russian nationals immediately and give any Russians that is still in the country 48 hours to leave and put the country on alert. Good thing I am not. :D

Even with their massive loss and even though they are mad, upset, sad, outraged, The Dutch are very much a subdued nation. Like the Swiss almost. They will never take a hard stand against a aggressor. Well, that is my opinion and impression of them.

:love: I love it when you go all macho like this!:love:

;) :p

PUTIN VOWS TO PRESS REBELS, HELP MH17 CRASH PROBE

Russian President Vladimir Putin promised Tuesday to do everything possible to influence pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine and help ensure a full probe into the Malaysia Airlines crash last week.

"Russia will do everything in its power for a full, comprehensive, deep, and transparent investigation," Putin told a meeting of Russia's national security council, Russian agencies reported. "We are asked to exert influence on the militants of the south-east (of Ukraine). Of course we will do everything in our power."

Yeah its been a big problem, so many pro Ukrainian citizens have been kidnapped or have just gone missing. According to that one poster here, these are spies taking these videos, so he will be fine :D

I've already posted that and its what im trying to say - "missile impact towards the front of the aircraft".

The shrapnel hit the plane, yes, but the missile have two purposes, 1) are to create a blast on detonation; and 2) to propel shrapnel towards the target. The passenger plane do not have any mechanism in place to distant or direct the blast radius which can be anywhere up to 100m. In this case the missile hit very close, the real purpose behind the shrapnel is to damage components like the wings, engines and hydraulic lines.

The missile detonation blast on the plane is like being hit by an artillery shell, the shrapnel (diamond-shaped sized like coins) on close proximity wrecked and tore the skin. The blast killed her.

Yeah pretty much what this Justin Bronk said and that people were probably dead/unconscious within seconds.

MH17 BODIES EXPECTED WEDNESDAY, IDS COULD TAKE MONTHS: DUTCH PM

The first bodies from the MH17 crash in Ukraine will be flown on Wednesday to the Netherlands, where their identification could take months, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said.

"Tomorrow the first plane (with bodies) will leave for Eindhoven" in the southern Netherlands, Rutte told journalists after the bodies arrived in Ukraine's Kharkiv town from rebel-held territory.

"Preparations will be made in Kharkiv so that identification can be done in the Netherlands as well as possible," Rutte said.

"As soon as a victim is identified, first and foremost the family will be informed and no one else. That can take weeks or months."

Of the 298 people killed when Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was brought down over Ukraine, allegedly by a missile fired by pro-Russia rebels, 193 are Dutch, and the Netherlands is in charge of their identification.

Rutte said that Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) monitors in Ukraine had indicated around 200 bodies were aboard the train, while unconfirmed reports said it contained 282 bodies.

"As soon as some victims are ready to be transported, the plane will leave," Rutte said, confirming that all the bodies would be brought to the Netherlands and then flown on to their respective countries.

The Dutch defence ministry said that a Dutch C-130 Hercules and an Australian C-17 transport plane would create an "airbridge" between Kharkiv and Eindhoven to bring the bodies back.

Australia, which lost 37 citizens in the crash, is also sending forensics experts and other investigators to Eindhoven and Ukraine, the defence ministry said in a statement.

Once arrived at Eindhoven, the bodies will be taken to the Kaporaal van Oudheusden military barracks in Hilversum, around 100 kilometres (65 miles) away.

Rutte declined to discuss possible sanctions against Russia, which allegedly supplied the missile that brought down the plane, saying European Union foreign ministers including the Netherlands' Frans Timmermans were currently discussing the matter in Brussels.

"The Netherlands is not opposed to sanctions," Rutte said.

He confirmed that the Netherlands would lead the crash investigation, which normally would have fallen to Kiev though it does not control the area around the crash site.

"We will turn over every last stone, and I can tell you that the Netherlands has, at Ukraine's request, been given the lead role in the investigation," he said.

MALAYSIA TO "SECURELY" HOLD MH17 BLACK BOXES FOR PROBE TEAM

Malaysia said Tuesday it would "securely" hold the black boxes of crashed flight MH17 before handing them over to an international investigation team, to be led by the Netherlands.

Pro-Russian rebels controlling the eastern Ukraine crash site of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 had handed over the black boxes, which record cockpit activity and flight data, to Malaysian officials following intense international pressure.

"The Malaysian team have taken custody of the black boxes, which appear to be in good condition," Prime Minister Najib Razak said in a statement, referring to officials sent to Ukraine in the aftermath of the disaster.

"They will be held securely in Malaysian custody while the international investigation team is being formalised," he said.

"At that time, we will pass the black boxes to the international investigation team for further analysis."

Flight MH17 was carrying 298 people, including 193 from the Netherlands, with all on board killed. The jet is believed to have been downed by a surface-to-air missile.

Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte confirmed Tuesday that his country would lead the crash investigation, which normally would have fallen to Ukraine even though it does not control the area around the crash site.

The first bodies from the crash site will be flown to the Netherlands on Wednesday, Rutte said, where their identification could take months.

Najib's comments Tuesday come less than a day after he announced a breakthrough deal with separatists from the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic, following direct negotiations.

The separatists currently stand accused by the US and some other nations of bringing down the aircraft, allegedly with a missile supplied by Russia.

Malaysia's deal with the rebels capped an official response praised at home as swift and clear, in contrast to the government's widely mocked handling of missing flight MH370 in March.

Earlier Tuesday hundreds of Malaysians protested outside the Russian and Ukrainian embassies to denounce the downing of Flight MH17 and demand the perpetrators be brought to justice.

About 300 people, most of them wearing black shirts reading "Justice for MH17", gathered in front of the two embassies to hand over a memorandum calling on Ukraine, Russia and the United Nations to get to the bottom of the disaster.

"We won't take this sitting down. It's our national carrier... 44 of our citizens were murdered," said Zaidel Baharuddin, a member of the ruling United Malays National Organisation, one of the organisers of the protests.

"We feel this is our responsibility (to speak out). It could be any one of us flying on the national carrier."

EU imposes new sanctions against Russian officials

The Dutch foreign minister says the European Union is imposing new sanctions against officials deemed responsible for Russia's actions in Ukraine.

Tuesday's decision by foreign ministers from the 28-nation bloc came days after a Malaysia Airlines plane was shot down over territory held by pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people aboard.

The Netherlands' Frans Timmermans said the EU's "forceful decision" imposes visa bans and asset freezes on more officials.

He says the ministers also asked the 28-nation bloc's executive arm to prepare for more forceful economic sanctions -- including targeting the arms, energy and financial sectors -- if Russia fails to back down from destabilizing Ukraine.

Timmerman did not specify how many officials were targeted under the latest sanctions, nor did he reveal their names.
