Julius Malema has gone to schools - during teaching hours - and urged pupils to vote ANC.
And if they were too young to vote, he told them to tell their parents to vote ANC on their behalf.
Malema's apparent electioneering would have been in violation of the national education policy framework, which states that any such activities on school premises must be carried out only after hours.
When asked whether politicians were allowed to electioneer on schoolgrounds, Education Minister Naledi Pandor's spokesperson, Lunga Ngqengelele, said: "No activities or disruptions must take place during school hours. If it is after hours, we don't have a problem, but during class is not allowed."
... Oh reallyHe promised the children that the new guard was not "like old politicians. We don't move around promising people things that we can't do."
... sickening. While handing over the "small gifts", he said the ANC would support the children - who he called "Mandela's children" - but that this support could be continued only if the ANC remained in power.
