Armed officers seize knife after a number of people hurt in ‘major incident’, say Merseyside police

At least eight people, feared to include several children, have been stabbed in Southport, where a man with a knife was arrested.

Merseyside police said they were responding to a “major incident” at a property in the seaside town in north-west England, where there were “a number of reported casualties”.


North West ambulance service (NWAS) said it had treated eight patients with stab injuries who had been taken to Alder Hey children’s hospital, Aintree university hospital and Southport and Formby hospital.

Emergency services were called to reports of a stabbing on Hart Street in Southport at about 11.50am on Monday, where armed police detained a male and seized a knife.

17-year-old boy arrested in connection with stabbing​

Southport stabbing latest: Boy, 17, arrested; 'Mothers screaming' after at least eight injuredA 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident in Southport, Merseyside Police has said.
The teenager from Banks will remain in police custody to be questioned, it added.

Officers have also confirmed the incident is not being treated as terror-related and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbing.

"At this early stage, enquiries are ongoing to establish the motive for this tragic incident and we would urge people not to speculate while the investigation is ongoing," the force said.

Not going to say it’s highly likely (mainly because there’s zero physical description of him apart from sex - and now apparently age, and they only don’t release details because people will get riled up because it’s usually obvious who did it), but since Choudary finally got done AGAIN for being a filthy little terrorist (18 July), another soldier has been stabbed (23 July) and now these kids have been stabbed (29 July). Let’s not forget that Lee Rigby was also beheaded in the street by Choudary’s “flock”.
 
Or are the usual people going to disappear when the perp was in actual fact not from the religion the bigots tried to blame. It has happened so many times before.

It's all about money. Everything. All of it. Money and the total control to extract as much of it as possible. History will look back and say: "Wow they did all that just to fatten their bellies even more."

They don't call them fatcat bankers for nothing.

Very interesting rant, but seeing as the perp was born in Cardiff at least 17 years ago, he hasn't just jumped out of his migrant canoe, if that's what you're implying, Tommy.

Police in the UK and Wales discharge their firearms on average six times a year.

So I'm not too unhappy about this "BS gun control".
