I wonder where this nonsense started?

Seems to be in the early 2000s, but more curiously, it is not in any American movies I know of, so once again, where did this begging nonsense in some weird outfit start?

Also seems to be a ‘white thing’ :X3:
"White thing" lol

Can I suggest it's a white afrikaans thing?

Also, I'm so glad the rest of you think that the people doing this are a bunch of cocktonsils. I thought it was just me.

One doesn't need a ceremony for lobola but people waste money on them. "White" wedding isn't necessary for non-christians but people insist on them. This leaves us with one inexpensive ceremony but people would rather throw over R300k on frivolous celebrations.
White weddings isn’t necessary for christians either. Girls want to be princess for a day.
I love it, its my business,
I also love divorce, it increases weddings. No one does it only one time anymore

I just feel sorry for the people having to pay for African bride’s 3 ceremonies.
Do not let me get started on the most amazing spectacular called a Hindi wedding. Oh my greatness.
And 21st birthday in my neighbourhood recently. Huuuuge event, 100+- cars.
At least funerals get covered by insurance...most of the expenses at least.
Oh lord, people and money.

Nothing wrong with not having money. Not only the rich fall in love.
The problem is when they don't live within their means.
As @Kosmik mentioned, go get married at HA.
Don't stand at the robots begging so you can have a fancy wedding.

I never understood it being the goal to get money for the wedding.

It’s rather just a piss take for the bachelor party with X target before they can stop the humiliation.

Retarded either way.

correct its not about money but just about guys getting together and being stupid.Personally i think its better to just go to the club, paintball or something normal. But getting dressed in a pink skirt and acting like a muppet in public is just pathetic.

Yeah I went with a mate and while he had the tutu on we just did stuff like Go Karting and Knee boarding and that was that.

Ive noticed in Durbs you see this mainly in the dodge areas like Queensburgh and Pinetown  :)
We see it in affluent areas, why beg for money in poor areas. You go to the rich people valley. Same thing with regular beggars.
