And then he wonders why he cannot find a job

A man from France, who is transforming himself into a "black alien", has said that he can't find a job as people "judge him".

I thought he wanted to be treated like an alien.

An alien will also struggle securing a position at your local McDonalds.

Having free choice means we don't have to agree with you or see the world the way you do - so you're just doing exactly what you accuse others of!

You don't have to see the world the way I see it - you just don't have to stop me or get in my way. You use your freedom for what you want and I'll use my freedom for what I want.

Do you think self mutilation is concerning? Or would you argue that no one should criticize based on the freedom of the people who do such things?

People are free to criticize - that is where it ends. Nobody can stop you, else someone will come along and tell you not to put poison in your body, not to get tattoos or piercings, what to do with your own money, etc.

A man chopping his hand off does nothing to our own bodies, neither does a man drinking himself into a coma.

Yes but we still judge people on their behaviour. Socially this guy will never be treated like a normal person because nobody will be comfortable being around him since his actions are vastly different than any one else's. My issue is that you're calling everyone but him a hypocrite despite complete social ineptness when trying to ask people to treat him like a normal person. I don't care if people do whatever as long as it's not hurting anyone but I still criticize and judge behaviour because as a species we still try to preserve rather than destroy. It's that destructive nature that causes people to avoid or judge.

This one is more likely to cause an accident. More likely.

Drinking into coma at home vs drinking into coma in a car, many people do it anyway and have to be rushed to the emergency room in both instances.

Nobody is saying we shouldn't judge the guy or have a laugh, I'm only arguing on the merits of his freedom. We also cannot judge what "other people" will do because he is not the only person like this, into this or doing this - he is the only one in the news.

I was saying laugh at him, but in the end say "Yeah, that was funny, but it's still his choice." because that is what it is. It just so happened that this thread popped up when another thread was running that people were crying how liberals are trying to control everyone, and how people are such snowflakes.

He makes his own decisions and he will live with them, nobody has asked for him to have special treatment or privileges. I only raised that it's a "meh" scenario and doesn't affect us in the slightest.
