Man uses unlicensed firearm as gear lever

Randfontein Police arrested a driver who was using an unlicensed firearm as a gear lever during the Okae Molao crime-prevention operation on Thursday, 14 November in Mohlakeng.

Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson, said the operation was conducted in various areas, such as Randfontein CBD, Mohlakeng, Toekomsrus, the two taxi ranks, R559 road, Flower Road, R41 road, the plots and farms, and saw a total of 97 suspects being arrested.

If you look at the photograph in that story, its a left hand drive vehicle. Looks like a Cadillac :unsure:
Willing to bet good money it was imported like that from the US and the gear lever is decorative.

and agree, must be decorative, nobody is silly enough to use a gun as a gear lever

And yes... its the West Rand in Gauteng, the cads there need to demonstrate they're relevant again, with their roadblocks and BS to get their jollies from harassing the law abiding citizens.

Artillery is made up of guns. Its a term for a set of weapons. Like cavalry (armed personnel on horseback), infantry (armed personnel on foot), ....
Artillery is a class of heavy military ranged weapons built to launch munitions far beyond the range and power of infantry's small arms.
On land they call this a gun:

saw it once happen, looked quite scary having to run away and wait.
and then some poor sod having to go back and check the breech if its gone off.
