Where does it state that not dressing in a suit is disrespecting a court?

Is it just some kind of unwritten rule? or is there an actual document stating that dressing in jeans a shirt and some takkies is disrespecting the court?

I am just wondering as i am the kind of guy who would dress like that for court, my job is pretty layed back so shorts and t-shirts with slops in summer and jeans t-shirts and takkie for winter. So if i murder someone and dress in a nice suit i might get a lighter sentence as i'm not disrespecting the court?

/puts flame suit on

That was just a desperate rant of marine1 to get responses from the usuals.

Either way, he could show up naked to court for all i care, as long as he gets nailed for what he did! Actually, if it would help him getting nailed:D(no pun intended) then i hope he does come naked next time to court. I would give his future cellmates something to look forward to :D

Well, thanks to the SA law he's innocent till they prove otherwise. You know that law the usual whiners so happily quote when trying to support their fcked up arguments.

Hmmmm....you must be right JustAsk...drinking then driving and killing two people because of your own jack-assedness is not a crime until they prove otherwise in court:rolleyes:

There.
You're right once again JustAsk. They must now also prove that he did indeed kill two people because that was also alledged.....right...?

lol @ "disrespect to the court" because he wasn't wearing a suit. the one and only time i had to be in court i was wearing freakin shorts, a t-shirt and slops. which by the way is pretty much what i wear ALL THE TIME. to funerals too.

"disrespect". lol. if i have to respect other traditions, then i obviously expect those traditions to respect my tradition, i.e. wearing shorts and slops all the time.

So when you go to an important business meeting, you rock up to see the CEO in jeans and T-shirt? Well it is the same thing, maybe you have never been to one of those meetings then. ;)
By dressing so casually, it shows no respect for the court or the judge/ magistrate.

Seems that Richard Branson can do it. Why can everyone not follow his lead?;)

It obviously shows no respect to the families of those that he killed. Showing respect though is lost on the crowd posting here. I wonder how you would have felt if it was your family members that were killed?

What has been discussed is respect for the court and for CEOs of companies - respect for the families of the dead in this incident was never mentioned.

It would be possible for Mandoza, or anyone else, to show respect and remorse without a suit. If it were my family that died i do not think i would care too much. Perhaps not shorts and slops, Durban style. But no jacket required.

BTW: Are you serious that he is a self confessed hijacker?

Would it make a difference? You want to argue about everything so maybe dont take our word for it. ;)

Disagreeing with you on a lot of issues does not mean that i want to argue about everything - it is called discussion.

Please, for once, answer a genuine question with a straight answer with no superiority in your tone. You are not the only forumite in this thread - let someone civil answer.

Edit: I cam not find any mention of Mandoza admitting to being a hijacker on Google.

Actually only for the court...the ceo thing is just a desperate attemp for support for this childish argument.

No...

When he was 16 he stole a car and did 18 months for it.Marine1 just doesn't have any interest in the truth sometimes.
