Hey guys
I just got ADSL with a second-hand Marconi router (aka Telkom ADSL POTS). Now, the port mapping functionality seems totally inoperable (I've done port mapping on ICS before, so I know how it all works). I've set it up to map ports 6112 to one internal machine, and 6113 to another internal machine, and neither work. Web on port 81 to internal port 80 doesn't work either.
I've heard rumours that the Marconi router has a built-in firewall that is not accessible/configurable? Is this true. If it is, could the firewall be stopping port requests on 6112/3 before they even get to the port mapping rules?
Also, it "disconnects" or hangs every few hours, and needs to be reset.
Has anyone set up port-mapping before? Did you use the PAT sections of the web interface - it seems the logical place to do it, but it doesn't work :/
HELP!!! I think I'm gonna have to get the NetGear router now...
