Hi Everyone

I maybe want to start a Gaming/Geek Culture apparel business, but before I invest in equipment and stock, I would like your feedback on this. Would any of you be interested in something like this? If so, if it's not too much to ask, could you please follow my Instagram page @geekcitysa, I'm using IG to keep track of how many people would be interested. Else, leave a reply.

Below are the type of items I would like to sell.

The hardest part is that what people want most is usually copyrighted.

This is very true. A few years ago I tried my hand at Etsy. Was at the time that Fortnite was the big thing. So
I made a few Fortnite designs. Got a cease and desist letter from Epic a few days later :) Fun times.

Anyways, there are ways around it. Obviously can't straight up copy some big ass company's work, but derivative stuff is usually ok.

And resale in SA... unless it's one of those present here or their affiliates, you should be cool. I'd even hazard a guess to say that Nintendo is all cool given that their distributor doesn't give a ***
Another way to get around it is have a custom option 'send me your image' and I'll print it on whatever...
Maybe a higher price tag since it's custom, but it won't be advertised so shouldn't irk anyone.

I do have something like that in mind, the custom stuff. But was thinking more in the lines of something like a logo/image editor, but the image/logo is for instance a cat/dog/rat, you know, a pet.
The pet can be customized with a given set of options, and this can then be put onto the mugs, shirts, hoodies etc etc. lol, I have seen more than my fair share of gaming pets (buddies) on Instagram.
So thought this could be a good service to have.

Dont take this the wrong way but if I saw those designs in a shop i would think oh thats nice but keep browsing. I think the concept could work but you need to be a little more unique with your designs. Anyone can get shirts printed now days what they buy is whats different artistic and eye catching. Play with colours, placement, fonts, textures etc
Then you wont need to worry about stepping on someones trade mark. You will be hiring lawyers to defend your own.
