Mashaba is a very popular leader based on what he's doing in Joburg, even among non-DA supporters. There will be a major decline in the city and the province for the DA if he leaves.
Exactly this, it's beyond me why the DA thinks throwing that away is a good thing.

You agree with notion that their alliance with the EFF is doing them more harm than good?
From my point of view.. Yes.. It was a massive mistake to even vaguely get into bed with the eff...

If the da themselves feel that way I honestly don't know...

If you're the type of individual that would even consider joining the EFF then yes one one would think the DA isn't the party for you.

This. The downfall of the DA has been letting in these agents who don't believe in (or even know) what the DA used to stand for.

It was good, so much ANC corruption was curbed by the new DA-EFF government and there's many positive developments happening in the city.

The DA has been changing because with its traditional base it had reached a growth ceiling. It can go back to what it was and stay the same size and ultimately overtaken by EFF as official opposition.

As Mashaba says, coalitions are the future of SA politics, if there is any party that thinks it is good to throw away a good chunk of the electorate's trust for some hope of a majority in future then that party has no future in politics.

Coalitions are the future no doubt.. But when you have to bend over backwards to accommodate a corrupt party in this non-coalition.. Then it's not good.

I see the people of Joburg being the winners in whatever bending over backwards that is happening, which specific kind of bending over backwards bothers you?

Just the continued corruption that seems to raise its head all the time... I want whatever party that is in charge to be running a clean ship... Then the residents benefit even more.

Right. At the moment the king makers EFF are the beneficiaries of the corruption, not the ANC. Tbh, anybody that has not learnt from this, deserve what they get. It's the innocents that suffer. I'll not be a proxy for corruption, not even with my vote.

That is the issue that exists for me... The Da want more votes but via proxy people may be voting for corruption purely due to them having to be in bed with the eff to be in control, and that doesn't sit well with some people. Granted down in lovely DBN my vote for the da doesn't support that but still..
