I'm not even a fan of the DA but I call out BS on that. He is supposedly leaving because Zille was elected. AFAIK, the other three candidates were also white. If one of them were elected, he would not have been doing this.

He's effectively labelled Zille as right-wing when the strongest growth the DA ever saw was under her.

I wouldn't even say their base is white or coloured.

It is people who just want their garbage collected on time, their rates to be reasonable and the politicians to not be a complete bunch of thieves. I would say most of the people on mybb and the social social circles they exist in are this base, regardless of skin colour. In other words the DA have always targeted the middle class. Which used to be predominantly white, but now is distinctly anything but that.
