Massive MTN price hikes: how much extra you will pay

So glad i cancelled contract and went to prepaid.. its honestly the best solution everyone needs to cancel as soon as possible!

Does anyone know if the old '3GB MTN Uncapped Lite' package would be affected?

On vodacom but definitely looking at prepaid or sim only. the current contracts give no discount in handsets. If you get a handset off orange you save cash besides the fact its a once off payment. Everything on a contract these days seems to be more expensive eg CLI and none of the promos like vodacoms power hour. Why land up with a 2 year contract unless you cant afford the phone upfront.

Contracts use to provide you with value vs calls/data bundled but since the about 2010 its no longer as favourable which is ironic as the reason networks preferred contracts was the guaranteed income. Very curious if their financial guys the eventuality of subscriber base moving to prepaid. For businesses it also provided a way of fixing costs with a device(yes i know u can exceed).. ironically this is what they 'broke' so the value of contract is just not there anymore.

2ndly I think someone should poke ICASA and increase subscriber mobility by reducing the minimum time on a network from 12 months to 6months :D See how they complain when just a few months ago they said portability had little impact
