Yeah its been open for months already.. I use it everyday...

All this was was an ego stroking exercise for some high up in the government to fsck with peoples trip to work in the morning by closing one of the flyovers so they could cut a ribbon....

Yup..

I do pity the folks living in Phoenix travelling through to Durban this morning though..

I think that ego stroking exercise must have made many thousands of people late for work... would hate to know what it cost companies overall...

I'm not a road engineer, but deep down inside I can safely say that interchange was massively over complex and designed to be as expensive and take as long to build as possible to benefit the few connected individuals involved.

Clearly you're not an engineer.

Yeah definitely not a road engineer... The interchange itself remained open whilst construction was ongoing so it needed to be complex

And it benefits the city and businesses WAY more than whatever kickbacks were involved, and from what I know it actually wasn't horribly overpriced compared to international norms.

You wouldn't say that if you new the complexity and amount of traffic that goes through that area every day.

As Toxic said, they had to keep the route open throughout the period of construction, honestly cannot see how else it could have been done.

It's a massive improvement to what it was before and the new design is downright elegant in terms of keeping traffic moving.

Was it Logie?

No idea tbh... I use a different section..

I just saw the group of people standing in the middle of the ramp, with a shyte ton of cars backed up on the road (they had been there for over an hour already according to the traffic reports)... I would have been screaming blue bloody murder...

why interfere with travel to work when you could easily do this on a weekend where traffic volume is low

No reason to do it at all, other than to waste time and stroke some twats ego to make him feel important.
