Massive victory for Please Call Me idea-man against Vodacom: report

Worst part is this:
- Vodacom agrees to pay 6bn Rand to Makate's attorneys
- The attorneys will take at least 50% in fees
- SARS will then come along and take almost half of the remaining 3bn
- Yes, he is still a billionaire and although it will hurt Vodacom they have recouped it with OOB a hundred times over

In reality: They will probably settle with monthly/annual payments to Makate and a once-off payment to the lawyers.

So which part is the worst there? That he will get at least 1.5Billion after tax?

I'm going to start invoicing him R20 for every CallMe during working hours and R10 for every one after work hours. Yes less after work, I don't want to become a millionaire in one night.

On a serious note, how would one start a campaign to get cross network CallMe opt out? In other words you would have to instruct your network to allow CallMe's to come to your number. If they receive no instruction it should be blocked for all networks.

Back when MyBB still wrote articles that lead to discussions we had this thread:

I really don't understand why this matter is so hard to grasp. If I was Vodacom I would be offering at the 1 bar plus full coverage on legal figure which was introduced for innovation in the company a while back:

Because that is what this is all about. An employee put forward an idea, his boss made a promise that the company would reward him, the company developed and implemented the idea. The company failed to reward the employee.

And Mr Knott-Craig also blatantly lied and took credit for the idea, even putting it in his autobiography 'Second is Nothing'...

Wow, I am taken back to the Gareth Cliff case.

Anyhow, I suspect that Vodacom has started working on a plan to recoup this money
