Just one small step away from having people/companies pay to promote their channels.

Was and still is dumb. Verification should be about authenticity and only that. It's Youtube's extra criteria that's rightly confusing people and will continue to do so even more now.

Youtube has become a chore.
Makes me wonder why Dailymotion never caught on. Sure, it's not as simple to browse as Youtube, but it doesn't have all those copyright strikes and rubbish like that.

I sometimes like watching botchemania for example.
On Youtube you can only watch it in as a small little box in the corner with 2/3 of the screen covered in a random wallpaper, because copyright strikes.

Same video on Dailymotion is fullscreen.

Youtube is more and more screwing the little guys and punting bit corp orates. So many creators are complaining about it. The standards to trend are very different and its proven. A clip from your average daily show will get on the trending page with like 10% of the views of a non corporate creator. The removing of video's they find offensive is also equally one sided where an ordinary youtuber says something slightly controversial and its taken down. Trevor Noah says it and its fine. Hoping a replacement for youtube comes along soon.
