I'm doing a fresh install of MM, when it gets about halfway it just hangs. It's probably something simple I'm getting wrong, any suggestions?

I have 10.04 installed on another machine so I'm not a complete noob :p

I've selected to download updates on the install options, could this be the problem? (I have a 4 MB line)

I had a look on the Ubuntu forums but no luck.

Problem solved

Turns out you can't use upper case in your user name. I wonder how many people new to Linux have been stymied by such small things?

bleh, also had the same issue... first time using linux, so was a bit bummed... played around a bit with Kubuntu (10.10), and decided to give Ubuntu netbook edition a try (on a Sony Vaio VGN-TX37GP). both times had a capital letter in the username, and both times the installer crashed... Kubuntu installer did not allow me to enter a username with a capital letter...

/UPDATE: mkay, and now having installed netbook edition, I am quickly getting rid of it... really not a fan... time to give the normal Ubuntu a try :) *thanks MWEB for an uncapped line* :)
