"Speeding" should not be a crime.

The amount of accidents on a day to day basis makes your argument invalid.

People can drive as fast as they want, as reckless as they want, away from public roads.

So, unpopular opinion but how many McLaren's have killed people? vs how many Taxis?

I still maintain if you spend > R2m on a car you should be given some leeway to drive it fast. But of course, we must be fair and thus drag everyone down to an equally low level where we say the McLaren has the same safety at high speeds as a Tazz :)
How many McLarens are on our roads?

Public roads are made for the general public. If a McLaren driver yearns for privileged access to speed, they must try the nearest track...

Supercar Drivers: let us drive as fast as we want, we are superior at driving and we promise we won't crash or affect anybody else but ourselves

99% of accidents are not because of speed, but because of reckless driving. There's a difference.

Focusing on a arbitrary number is silly.
The autobahn is a perfect example of this.

So, we should not control or restrict speed?

No. I cannot see any reasonable argument for restricting speed.

My personal reason for not exceeding 140 is feul economy, on my daily commute.

But I can do a bit more than that on accusation.

Well this is a propaganda piece, but it does make my point. Germany is one of the safest countries.
