Ja but what grade is that? Usda prime, which is what Franklin's uses, is those prices above raw, if not more cause he uses creekstone farms only.

Been in SA for 2 years now after 16 years abroad, fyi etc

Grass fed beef from Wellington

Usda prime? R1500 for 9lbs/4.5kg = more than 4 times what I paid

Whereabouts in Wellington?

Then i must give over to the fact that you have been over more recently than i and i must be out of touch.
I spent all the time in the eurozone so can't really comment on the states personally, but I have 2 sets if really good SA friends who are on either coast of the states, and they both say meat is hellishly expensive.

Meat in the UK, France, Netherlands/Belgium was also WAY more expensive when at the level of a good PnP steak.
