Sedgefield has a local power outage today from 8 am till 4pm to enable Eskom repairs to our local transmission sub-station. So far, my Mecer 2400 is running my wisp gear, a router, 2 laptops and 2 screens and sitting at 25v. The 2 solar panels show 26v of charge in to the batteries at 9am full autumn sun. Will monitor and update through the day.

Well, for whatever reason, Eskom have restored our power - after having warned us it would be off until 4pm, it came back on at 10:30am. Experiment over. Go back to sleep little Mecer...:confused:

Looks like you may be right, Below supplied by @Ivork a unit who's fans don't stop(Confirmed).

Also looks like the Display is different, on version 1 vs version 2.
Version 1 (Continuous fan):

Version 2(Fan stops at float):

Lastly Version 1 & 2 power button is oval while pics on mecer website show a round button. and another different display(Version 3?):

This does offer some confusion. I wish Mecer would have just updated the model numbers between the various versions.

Just bought x2 full kits of the 2400's and I really hope I get the latest versions.

Gee, is this how price and demand works? Last year this Mecer inverter, LINK, was like R3700. Then loadshedding started and it had been creeping upwards at a R200 per week pace.
When I posted the above, the price was just over R5k. Now I see it's R6790. It's almost a 100% increase in 7 or 8 months. Is this kind of increase even legal?

If it is not an essential item yes. Demand has been extremely high.

They will bring it down, unless they prefer sitting with their stock while starving to death.
