Great. I did order from them. I think they should ship by Monday/Tuesday if the backorders reflected are accurate. Batteries also seem to be scarce these days though and there is a 10-15 day wait on those too.

Thanks for the help and shop recommendations.
Big battery shipment being help up in durban port last time I checked not sure of the ETA.

It is pure sine wave, built in charger and with automatic changeover.

Much better than the 720W Mecer/Ellies units.
This looks like a possible alternative to the ACDC units:

I might consider it when going the UPS route.

no battery charger.
Oh damn, missed that.

If looking at that Banggood inverter , then the following is the better/safer buy between the two:

Edited the link, first still referred to the other inverter.

There is a thread at the 4x4community forum on this specific inverter - everybody is happy with it.

Guys, quick thought.
200ah batteries, will they be charged quick enough on the mecer unit? 150ah should be fine i guess?

About 5 hrs at 20A if you have discharged them to 50% dod. Go with the 200ah, you'll be fine, there's still enough hours In between to charge them.

^ He is connecting them in series to give him 24V, so the 200Ah stays @ 200

Yes, the formula is AH=It, so it will be 200/20 at 20A.

Slightly confusing but the battery is treated as a single battery not two.

Still bashing my head for the 150ah or 200ah.
Money is now slightly a factor.

150ah i for sure will, all things considered like 50%dod and ,085 eff, should last me exactly over two hours, thats of everything keeps pulling at worst case scenario wattage.

I wish id have an extra R1200, then id get those omnipower 180ah units!

Which brand did you settle on?

I would rather spend money on a better known brand battery - not much on the internet regarding Gold Shine.

you could just go 12V and 1 x 200AH battery or do you have inverter already?
