That would have been an option, but according to them, none of their packages have the option of overseas reimbursement.
I agree they are protecting themselves - but imagine if your car insurance said they would not cover your car for three months, but you still get to pay the full amount....1 thing not to cover pre-existing conditions, that I get.
Otherwise, pay a minimal fee for the three months, then full price from then on.

It is. That would be covered, anything in the next three months, pre-exisitng or no, would not.
Anyway, the pregnancy overseas is the reason for moving, not the the fact of the pregnancy itself. The pregnancy is covered locally by the current insurer.
If you leave that part alone, you still get the fact you have a 3 month waiting period after changing.

You pay, but are not allowed to claim.

Except for PMB's - they have to pay those (prescribed minimum benefits) and all emergencies.

After the 3 month waiting period (while you continue to pay membership fees as if you were a full member) you may be subject to further waiting periods for some disclosed conditions (if you have a pre existing condition and do not declare it tour claim will be rejected) - Pregnancy and birth benefits was something you waited a year for on some schemes when signing up to new scheme. I know someone who couldn't claim anything do do with ears for 12 months. Additional waiting periods are determined by the scheme Gods.
