so there i was this morning, minding my own business (sleeping), when suddenly i realised "oh crap, its seven o'clock, time to get up and go to work". so i woke up.
while i'm showering my neighbours start knocking on my door. "what the?", i thought to myself. so i shouted "WHAT THE?!". the reply came back: "THEY TOOK YOUR WHEELS!" .
they took my wheels? who, i wondered, as i dried myself and quickly put on some clothes and rushed outside. what i saw was, well, lets just say i couldnt stop myself from laughing. my car was sitting on bricks. "they" stole my wheels! i was laughing so hard my neighbors thought i was gonna shoot everybody before i shot myself. but i just found it so funny.
be mad? at who? "they" were gone, and there was really nothing i could do about it now. except laugh it off, which i did and i must say it felt pretty good coz people werent feeling sorry for me. we all hate pity (well i hate pity then :p).
so thats how i became a statistic, and i must say i dont like it one bit :( but it was quite funny :D
at least one good thing came out of all this: my brand spanking new 17" rimz riding on 215 low profile tyres. with lock nuts this time, of course. sending a big FU to "them". i will not be a victim :D
(maybe i should write a book now?)

Good on you man, I love your attitude and response.

Hopefully they get caught but don't keep your hopes up... Good idea getting lock nuts.

Maybe you could activate it via sms'ing a special number :D since you almost can't avoid being in a area which those cellphone towers can't reach :D

I know a guy who also got his wheels stolen, but he only realised when he actually tried to reverse and he went nowhere?

This happened to a (former, funnily enough she left) tenant in my block of flats in Bordeaux some time back. 'They' took the rims from her champagne Corsa GSi and we all marvelled at her li'l egg sitting up on bricks too...

heh, maybe there should be an ad on tv similar to the arrive alive one, about how we all know someone who's had their wheels stolen. "My colleague".
speaking of which, don't you think the ad would have much more impact if the guy who says "MY SONNN!" was the last guy to speak? with the music volume increasing and drums rolling and...

Good attitude, but for the record lock nuts are not gonna save your wheels and an ordinary wheel spanner with enough force can pop them easily.

someone said that stealing wheels is more opportunistic, so if they run into a lock nut chances are they'll just go find a car without them...

LOL this happened to a buddy of mine a few years back, it is kinda funny. No point in getting hot under the collar, the best thing to do is laugh cos it really is funny to see a car sitting on bricks :D

Should have had lock nuts the first time around though. The only problem is that you might lose the key. When I lost my lock nut key it was a mission to cut the bolts off and replace them with a new set.

Good attitude, but for the record lock nuts are not gonna save your wheels and an ordinary wheel spanner with enough force can pop them easily.
Not if you get a proper set of lock nuts. This might work on an el cheapo R100 set, I would say put it in the extra cash and get a decent set. When I lost my key, it took a specialist fitment centre about an hour to get them off.

Welcome to the club bru.

Try to work out where they got the bricks from as well .. it's a kewl thing to investigate.

P.S. Any body want a spare wheel with drand spanking new continetal tyre on it for a Toyota Corolla RXI 1998 model. It's all I have leftover and it's useless to me.
