When you say that wedding rings can be dangerous, do you mean in terms of physical injury, or increased likelihood to be mugged, or what?

I went with a Titanium Ring with a silver inlay -still looks great
I see they add colours like black, blue and purple to Titanium rings now

Actually can be cut by standard equipment at most Emergency rooms / paramedicsNo gold at all.
Stick to Titanium as it's lightweight and durable.
Tungsten if you can live with how heavy it is.

Gold is also incredibly dangerous to bikers because if you are in a crash it heats up very quickly and causes swelling of the fingers and then it can't be cut off easily and often leads to fingers being lost.
Titanium you can't really cut at all...but it doesn't have the swelling problem.
Will titanium crack and crumble when too much pressure is put on it?
I went for a ring made from platinum as opposed to gold/titanium/tungsten. Platinum does not wear, meaning things like scratching does not remove any of the platinum as happens with gold - a jeweler can simply reheat it and restore it to its former glory - and it can be cut by ER personnel if required, which is not possible with titanium/tungsten.
It is a bitch to shape apparently. I wanted our jeweler to make a pattern of small flat areas, about 1mm in width all around the band but he could, at best, make them 3mm in width, noting afterward that he'd rather "lose a hand than do it again"
Why should a man compromise on his wedding band when little expense is spared on the ring for a woman? On a man's ring, platinum basically doubles or triples the cost compared to gold, doesn't it?
Tungsten is very hard,so get into a freak accident where your finger swells and they can't cut the ring, blood flow loss to your finger etc ...
Get one that is hard enough to you can open beer bottles with them, slide your palm over the bottle and open, at least it is then something useful![]()
