It is great that they did this. Apple would have just told their users they need to throw away their computer and get a new one if they want the new OS.
MS is essentially doing this by making the process so convoluted.

Bash:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup]
"AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU"=dword:00000001

Save as windows11upgrader.reg and run it as administrator.

If I open Regedit as admin , then import the .reg file, will that do ?

Should yes, but its easier to right-click on the file ... no need to open anything

EDIT: on 2nd thought, there is no 'run as admin" option on reg files ... so just left click or right-click and select merge

A new tech support document titled "Ways to install Windows 11" includes a section that provides instructions on how to bypass the trusted platform module (TPM) 2.0, and CPU family and model checks during the update process.

why they did that in the first place?

can't understand that. :p

Is it worth even doing this, or just wait it out a bit longer.
I know alot of people running on older CPU's without issues.

Nope, still doesnt seem to want to work on mine after updating the registry. Entirely possible i stuffed it up or my I5-3570 is simply too old.

Had the same, but testing in a VM.
In no rush, would rather wait for them sort all the k@k out.

“These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved,” the company stated.
What kind of trickery is this? We're installing a new operating system.

I get further on PC No 2 - but what is the point of a workaround given by Microsoft, then a warning which says btw, you are never going to get any more updates ??
