Microsoft no longer provides Huawei with Windows licenses

So, they install Linux... and make the laptops R1000 or R2000 cheaper.
People purchasing those laptops can buy Windows seperately if they want.
 
It's not like these tech giants have any day in this, they're just abiding by US legislation that forbids them from supplying services to organisations earmarked as US security threats.

dont fully understand this,

I mean Iran is listed as an enemy of the US, yet they use in their Nuclear center, Windows PC's and servers,
and they are under a heavy US sanctions.

North Korea, exactly the same.

how effective are all these sanction and restrictions really?

Well, I guess you can Windows from anywhere, but I highly doubt the Iran or N. Korea Nuclear Agencies have a formal volume licensing agreement, LOL.

exactly what i was thinking with the phones just ship them with software that's bare bones and then users can install android, someone said its much more complicated than that.
