I'm in the market for a dishwasher, (entry level/budget) and I came across the Midea 12 place - WQP12-5201 at PnP for R2999. I don't know much about this brand and there are mixed reviews, leaning to positive. It does have a 3 year warranty so seems ok. I was just wanting to know if anybody on here has personal experience on this brand. I'm also considering a Defy DDW232 13 place for R3899 at House and Home. Or should I be aiming a little higher. Any advice appreciated. Screenshot_20200721-114948.jpg Screenshot_20200721-115729.jpg

There are some other dishwasher threads around and most of them all said go Bosch.

I bought a Hisense over the weekend and so far no complaints. I have only used it once and to be honest, my experience with dishwashers are quite low (other than using some other peoples older ones). It's a touch noisy, but I stay in a really small place, so that doesn't help. Does a good job though.

I have had one of those countertop Midea ones briefly - ordered it, took it out the box, realised my plates wouldn't fit, then realised that if I removed the board it sat on I could get a full sized one, slapped it in the box and sent it back. From that brief experience, I can't say I had any complaints lol. But wow, 2999 for a 12 place dishwasher is really good, considering the cheapest one I could find when I was looking was R3999. The defy isn't too badly priced either. I feel a bit ripped off after buying from Hirsch :| But I am getting free tablets and rinse aid ("yay")

I'm buying it for me.... I'm the dishwasher in my house and now with this lockdown work from home it seems the pile of dishes just keeps growing, I'm amazed I've managed 4 months at home without it., I bought a robot vacuum because I was the vacuumed too........

Rather pay more and get a Bosch.
The wife anyway doesn't want a white appliance, which is odd as our stove and washing machine is white and they are both in the kitchen too and she bought a smoothy maker blender last week and it is white too. But nope she doesn't want a white appliance. What is it about the Bosch?

Can get the Bosch in metallic too. Was on special at Game last month https://www.guzzle.co.za/specials/view/2391391/ so just wait till it's on special again. It's German so will last a long time.

I got a Siemens, which is basically a Bosch with a different brand for like R5000 at Tafelberg. Benefit of it is that it has the cutlery tray at the top instead of the cutlery basket...

Guys and Galls....... STAY AWAY !!!!! I bought one of these exact same Midea machines in September 2020 through Takealot. Machine worked fine but then after about 6 months broke down with a "Flooding" error. Was not stressed much because I had the 5 YEAR PREMIUM WARRANTY...... pffffff, this is where it started.... contacted the call center, mailed every address I could get for a few days. Eventually were told to Log a Service call which I immediately did. Then I was asked to submit a bunch of Info that I have already submitted..... At Last, was promised that a service Tech will visit me the next week Wednesday...... Wife waited at home al day, in vain.... Called the Helpline/Service center and was told that the system still shows that the Technicians service request was not approved.... then call after call, mails by the bags full.... nothing, no response no feedback NO WORKING MACHINE !!!!! I am so annoyed and have NO IDEA what to do next..... Reported on their FB page... Nothing!! Tried to give then k@k feedback on FB, will not accept my review and shows and error...
My wife will try to phone them on the Hrs, every Hrs today, but I have no hope for that also...... I guess from there its to the Consumer Board........

MIDEA NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!!!!
