Hey, by all means pick on me as much as you want. You only show up your own stupidity in doing so. ;)

LOL... you did not even realise it and you have the audacity to call others stupid.

I thought military force had defeated the terrorism in Sri Lanka?

Colombo: A police officer and a civilian were killed and 12 others, including four schoolchildren, were injured when suspected LTTE militants carried out a bomb attack in the Eastern Batticaloa region of Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Bomb blast kills 2

If there is a threat of 2 civilians dying every week or so by a bomb blast I would say you have a problem.
2 rocket attacks per week was apparently bad enough to warrant an invasion in other places...

Zimbabwe had a comparatively peaceful transition as well then and look how that turned out

Good point! Britain handed the country to MadBob on a silver platter. Strange how he turned on his benefactors.

So just out of curiosity, how do you think things should have gone down in SA?

So he was never elected but put in power, yes that was a pretty smart move.

Do please back up your comment with some sort of reasoning.

In the same logic, Gaza is not Germany. Yet the reference to the Holocaust is widespread around here.

Give it five more years, then we'll have a looksie shall we? Actually that kinda works out well, Zim went to pot after 20 years, at 20 years we'll be there for JZ to rig his second general election. I like the parallel references, frightening, but interesting none the less.

Oh to answer your question, I believe the answer flying around is: "Honestly, this thread is a joke... South Africa is not Zimbabwe. "

aqua has been kind enough to grace us with a map:

Anyway, my actual point is that some terrorists can't be negotiated with.

My point is that trying to kill terrorists is usually a counter-productive excercise, especially when the terrorists have a legitimate reason to be upset.

Which is why I really do want to know how you would've handled the whole ANC issue at the beginning of the 90s. Do you think the Nats made a mistake when they decided to come to the negotiating table with the ANC? If so, then where, and if not, why not?
