I have heard that Milk Thistle is very good for the liver and helps it work better and get rid of all the crap.

Have any of you used it and did you feel or see any benefit? The studies that has been done seems to be contradictory. Some say big benefit..some say no benefit and others are inconclusive?

taken over a long period of time, it just might save you a liver transplant. But the most prudent course of action would be to give your liver a nice long rest especially if you feel it aching from your rentless and savage abuse.:D

I find essentiale tablets work the best. Two before you start and two before you sleep.

I use it.

Its hard to tell whether it works or not, but I don't think its possible to tell unless you have blood tests done and the liver examined.

I used it when I was taking other medication that damages the liver. Doing bloodtests before taking the other medication, during and afterwards, it definitely seemed to have helped keep down the damage the medication was causing to my liver. I did however during that time, not had a single sip of alcohol. So no idea if it helps with alcohol damage, but I can tell you, it won't make you feel better after drinking a lot.

So the use as I see it, is to reduce liver damage, or help it heal faster, it won't prevent damage.

err ... SA manufactures some good products  even though our health sector has taken a hit with the new generation taking over its still one of the best worldwide

With regard to herbals and natural supplements including those used in the bodybuilding world, there is a dearth of independent lab studies which look at the content versus what is on the labels of the products and look at the quality and quantity of the ingredients. Personally I do not trust and have not ever trusted the claims of ANY South African manufactured dietary or herbal supplement without a full independent lab analysis. There's too much greedy crooks can get away in their pursuit of Monopoly, shutting out competition from the US mostly.- They just run to the MCC and cry like babies.
