Has anyone tried watching Twitch streams with MTS?
I just migrated to them and already noticed a lot more buffering than previously, I'm on a 50/50.

Otherwise, no issues

I signed up with them a few weeks ago. Today is supposed to be the cutover date, but alas, not replying to my mails nor does their phones even work.

If this is how their support starts... well... not good....

When I got home it seems the cutover was done, so all good.

I am not happy ATM.

I called MTS various times to ensure that the changeover will go smoothly. Spoke to them on Thursday they said Friday someone will contact me with login details.

I called twice on Friday morning for log in details. Thereafter I received a call stating there is an issue with the line and metro needs to come out to repair.

Earliest appointment was Monday afternoon. I made it clear on Thursday that I need internet for work at home purposes.

We have been without internet since Thursday midnight and not family not happy either.

question would be, did you have a line problem before you made the switch to MTS?

Migrations are not easy I learnt. Anyone who migrates should bear that in mind. I migrated and I was offline for 2-3 days. However MTS does seem to deliver. I am happy.

I am sure any users that are migrating and expect to be offline for 2-3 days, they will be fine. MTS is good so far.

Think it's my DNS giving me issues.

What DNS are you using?
1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1 and 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 are popular options. Otherwise the other option is just hosting your own DNS server, its not that difficult to host your own.

If you are thinking of moving to mindthespeed, I think you should wait or reconsider.

I'm planning on writing something much(?) longer about my experience with mindthespeed, but I'm still in the middle of something with them, which may make my experience better or worse.

For now I will just say that I moved to MTS because they were cheaper enough that it was worth it. But, I guess you get what you pay for. So far, their technical support staff have been so mind bogglingly bad that I genuinely have doubts about the quality of their network.

More to come.

Let me share my experience for everyone's benefit.

I recently did a new installation with Mind the Speed on the Frogfoot network in Somerset West as Somerset West is now live in my area.

Ordered on the 14th October, Mind the Speed confirmed order same day, Frogfoot called the next day and we agreed on installation date. Mind the Speed couriered the router to me early.

Frogfoot came to my house at the agreed time 2 weeks after order, my install at home was a little time consuming as they had to cut into my tar driveway, they did clean up and fill up with new tar as well. The Frogfoot installer then connected everything and I was online.

I then logged a call with Mind the Speed asking them to change my wireless network name and password, which was done promptly.

I only ordered a 10/10 link and I'm getting the speed.

Overall I was impressed, communications from Mind the Speed was great, and the Frogfoot team were excellent.

I see a MTS promo on openserve. Free 3 fibre. You don't have to migrate your line during the 3 free months. If you like what you see they migrate your line after the 3 months.

Because they don't migrate your line in the first 3 months there is no penalties of you decide not to switch.

Openserve only as they are the only fno that allows ISP switching like this.

Very nice.

I think Network Platforms actually owns MTS. When I contacted them for help with the latency to a work VPN server, I was put into contact with Network Platforms directly. Also, they are spending quite a bit on marketing and promotions for a new ISP.

Yes because the IP range belongs to Network Platforms so might be same like Gigago which is Metrofibre just their ISP portion.

Anyways thinking of giving Mind the Speed a go.

Not sure if they gave me a speed capped account for my free month of testing but speeds struggle to reach 80Mbps.

Latency as expect top notch. Always been a very big fan of Network Platforms routing. 169ms to Amsterdam which is very nice. Speeds on a 200/100Mbps Openserve line is meh..
