Excuse my ignorance:

I just played a bit in the browser version of the game - What is exactly is the point? I started off with 1000000 different types of blocks and all i did was break stuff.

Trust Wage to make a server and not look after it.

It seems they have the right idea. Make servers for all games playable, yet they fail to look after them, and often the admins will be to lazy to even bother fixing problems.

The wage minecraft was cool when it was first up. I made some cool things that took a lil while. leave for the night and everything is destroyed. Join one day later and the whole place is a mess. Come back later and everywhere is flooded with water and there is no floor. Geezus wage, put your admin in amateurs hands.

Been enjoying the Alpha from work. Overheats my laptop though

Always wondered how this'd work in multiplayer, too easy to destroy everything/burn forests etc.

How can the admins prevent that? One n00b that gets bored can bust everything in a night, as mentioned.

The minecraft server requirements are pretty insane. We'd need around 2mbps upload to effectively cater for 20 people. It also uses approximately 100mb/hour/player, but that was before the recent chunk optimisations though. A whitelist is mandatory, as well as hey0's server mod.
