... which explains my concerns about opening and connecting the fibre CPE directly to a 12V mini-ups supply.

Should I worry ?
Buy a ready made cable from Uniterm Direct to be safe or double check / test using a multi-meter.

I have tree of these , they replace your power supply and have a decent display that shows the power being drawn all the time , connect and forget it, it just works .(it also shows the amount of power left with four bars)
I bought that one from Uniterm direct who also sell the DC cables.

Sorry, my bad: I should have been more explicit.

It's not so much the cables as what happens if the mini-ups goes wonky and delivers not-so-perfect power.

Nope, it has a good regulator.

Also, I haven't yet found the pricing for the Eaton 3S Mini mentioned in MyBB last month. It could be interesting.

Does anybody here have an Ellies Cube Mini that can share practical experience? It looks like a winner.
I can, Huawei ONT plus TPlink Router 5 - 6 hours. also you must understand how small it really is. it is pretty much an overly large Power bank. easy to hide behind stuff. comes with Adapters incase your router takes a non standard connection.

Quick google revealed they are not to far from me. Do they sell direct to the public or are they dealer specific only? No prices on their website.

Quick & easy off-the-shelf DIY solution:

Get to Outdoor Warehouse & buy a Battery Buddy for R 449,00

The battery comes separate (they are expensive on this you can get is cheaper somewhere else)

7.2 AMP/HR BATTERY

Depending on your modem/ONT etc. you may need one or two of these LUMENO DC MALE PLUGS for R 19,00

Assuming MTN Supersonic stays up during load shedding, what will I need to keep a B618, Shield TV Pro, a Computer monitor, and JBL 2 Soundbar going for 2 1/2 hours.

Assumptions:

B618 = 6amp
Shield = 8amp
Monitor = 30amp
Soundbar 15amp

So around 60amp, I would think.

Feel, that sounds, about right, or am I off the mark somewhere.
1 x 720W Mecer inverter
1 x hubble s-100 battery
This will give you 1200Wh.

Use a killawatt to measure your stuff:

All you need to do is register and say you a business - same as makro.

Best two options that have worked very well for me

1. Sherlotronics PA4680 12VdC 3,2AMP Power Supply with 12v deep cycle gel battery

Sherlotronics - https://www.geewiz.co.za/securitycctv/99587-sherlotronics-pa4680-12vdc-32amp-power-supply.html (https://www.sherlotronics.co.za/power-supply-12vdc-3-2a/)

You can add a Voltage regulator to protect voltage-sensitive devices. I cut the cable of an old DC adapter I had laying around and used that into my ONT and Router

2. Mini UPS 8800mah

Most of these are the generic ones that are branded by various companies and sold.

This is one very common one branded by e.g. Volkano it works well. The Vodabucks store has it for R349 at the moment.
