Driver's licence card wait times slashed — with a "smart enrolment" system on the way

Transport minister Fikile Mbalula says the waiting period for a driver's licence card renewal in South Africa should now be about two weeks.

The minister made the statement during a recent media briefing alongside the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), which oversees the Driver's Licence Card Account (DLCA).

My SO & I applied for our renewal of Driver's License cards 26 August 2022. I'll update once we get the notifications to collect.

Well, a person who lives with us went for his drivers' license on July 15. He did get his license last week only.

This is probably propaganda from the Minister to try and get the case in court tossed.
