Minister challenges TikTok in South Africa

Communications minister Solly Malatsi has told TikTok that it should expand its Creator Fund to South Africa, which would allow local creators on the platform to earn an income from their videos.

"South Africa has over 17 million TikTok users and trendsetters shaping global culture, making it the ideal place to expand TikTok's Creator Fund in Africa," Malatsi said.

And next year.

"SARS cracks down on TikTok creators"

No matter what people think of Tiktok, I also don't see the rationale in deliberately discriminating against people.

Saffers on Tiktok are shaping global culture?

Are they running "Gone in 60 seconds" vids?

Is amazing the amount of content South Africans are putting out just for clout, some of spending good money just to end up 10K views.

Don't we actually need more SA advertisers on TikTok to pay the creators? I mean the money has to come from somewhere and I see very little SA ads in TikTok.

Carl N would be very happy but those swiping wouldn't be.

I actually though this was already in place?

Based
Local content creators glazed by TikTok, will be straight bussin for real on God.
Local chads will be able to Rizz up their Gyat with all that TikTok funds.
Maybe then they could afford Grimace shake with prime berries mixed in.

More local TikTok broccoli hair brainrot please.

Must make a law, anyone who post a dumb vid of himself lip singing or doing some other dumb thing will be hung and posted in tiktok. Cant people just post something usefull or nature instead of their ugly mug or tits
