Seems like Vince is still around. I thought he might try to leave the country.

Go read the comments on his page. Give David Roux a Bells!

"Go **** yourself". Not the first time the "leaders" and "directors" of this company is spewing that at people.

What is the legislation that actually governs Ponzis?

Just a little reminded that fraud doesn't always come wrapped in "financial services" kind of wrapping, and that those who claim to have the most noblest of intentions are often the ones you need to examine more closely.

Fraud, theft, misrepresentation under common law.

Then FAIS, FICA, POCA and various to do with the Companies act (that apply to the bosses and anyone who marketed this thing).*

Nor sure what applies to a mere "investor".

*This list is by no means exhaustive.

They went into maintenance just before 7am... Over 5 hours later still in maintenance mode

Feels like something done borked
I wouldn’t read too much into this. They switch off like this every weekend, all weekend. The website usually comes back up late on a Sunday. Even the thing with the disappearing users, I think can be easily explained by them removing unfunded accounts. They have been quite open about doing that.
I would have been more excited about things going txtsxp, if they hadn’t gone into maintenance mode this weekend.

Ponzi and Pyramid schemes are covered under the Consumer Protection Act of 2008. Section 43(2) gives details of the prohibitions under this Act. Section 38 of the CPA deals with illegal selling practices such as referral selling.

Anyone who loses money through belongin to a Ponzi or Pyramid scheme has considerable difficulty getting anything back although it is not impossible through individual civil or class actions. People involved in referral selling can expect to be pursued.

In this case there is the added fraud of falsified trading statements etc

Oh indeed! MTI will have to expand their legal department unless they all want to just flee the country. Even if the scheme doesn't collapse or be folded soon, there is so much smoke around MTI now that it really doesn't seem likely that various government departments won't start asking questions.

For the moment, I'd say stick to the MTI goons.

I think some of the bigger recruiters that have Whatsapp and Telegram groups as well, These do most harm I think but will also fold fast if the pressure is kept on.

This always puzzles me. I mean do they have a bunch of schoolchildren using an abacus to calculate bonuses? Computers are pretty fast, my basic laptop handles fairly intense calculations almost instantly so what would they be doing that the site needs to be offline for hours at a time?

I think we can also look at the Banks Act as the pooled funds can be seen as acting as a deposit taking institution. The fact that they offer returns based on US Dollars and the US dollars are included in the back end statements, they cannot shout "Crypto Immunity". The Banks Act is controlled by the South African Reserve Bank who I think does have the power to shut down a non registered deposit taking company...Just a thought

Oh trust me: there are more than enough on this thread , let alone Site , to fulfill that wish 'o yours .
When I Confronted one of the main recruiters to come online and share with us his view of the world, from the top of the MTi sh^tpile , he lasted a morning. The idea was not to lure him out , though that was what was delivered to us in the few posts he'd made. I don't know anyone on here from a bar of soap , but from what I've seen , some of their investigative due diligence in the MTi Durasdiction (gawd i Still can't believe that one ) would put most of SARS, the Fsca and The HAwks to shame. 'SPose we could basically put it down to common sense , Logic , and a vested interest in protecting innocent people, but make no mistake whatsoever : from what I've Seen :I'd Take about 25 of them to war in an open debate with Cheri and the other Buffalo , regarding Mti.

It's Feeding Time, and these Wolves , are hungry.

It would be nice if more were contributing to the site though - my time resource is thinner than the paint used on MTI's sign board. (Although I don't blame anyone - uncovering this dirt is practically a full time job.)

I'm going back on all the links I saved but I'm sure I missed some - you can send me links and pics - let's see how much I can put in.
