We systematically dehumanise & hold back the majority for years and then expect a stable, civilised society to come out of thin air the moment democracy arrives

Well we do have the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa Clause :).

This was started more than 300 years ago.

Make your calc look a little silly .

2006 - 1994 = 12 (year(s)) How much longer must we wait for a stable civilised society...

Let's all do our best!

White man ruled for 40+ years in an apartheid era... A black man took over for now 12 years only swapping positions 'but' with the aim to advantage the previously disadvantaged. Sad that only people who were in the struggle or exile (politicians) seem to be the ONLY so called previously advantage & who are enjoying the benefits (Lo! not every black man is) ... How many more years to go before we sink!

The fact is, no color has done any better:(

As well as racist ANC judges who do nothing more than set around and give lenient sentences to "their own kind".

Care to give verifiable proof of this happening here Dominic like Angelo highlighted in this sad case or are you just pulling this one from your proverbial rear as usual ???.

Right back at you.

Care to give verifiable proof of this happening - did you read the court transcripts? Were you present? What was the evidence given?

Open your eyes, smell the coffee. What you're implying is that only apartheid judges can be racist - as usual total rubbish. What about Cape Judge President, Mr Hlophe being racist about Afrikaners?

None more blind than those who cannot see.

No need for me to study law or read the transcripts bud.

It is rather self evident to any rational person and also the very learned people from the NPA seem to agree that this a blatant miscarriage of justice.

Well right back at you.

Judge President John Hlophe of the Cape High Court has lashed out at the white legal fraternity for what he described as calculated attempts to undermine black judges and stall transformation.

Hlophe said he and other black judges had had "numerous" experiences of racism by white colleagues "deliberately trying to undermine the intellect and talent of black judges".

Racial tensions have often been expressed within the court, but this is the first time they have bubbled into the public domain. It is widely acknowledged that further transformation of the Cape High Court bench is urgently needed.

Hlophe's comments follow his recent condemnation in court of alleged rumours that he had written a judgment for fellow judge James Yekiso.

'The innuendo at the time was that Yekiso was not capable'
Hlophe's comments follow his recent condemnation in court of alleged rumours that he had written a judgment for fellow judge James Yekiso.

The innuendo at the time was that Yekiso was not capable and that he had manipulated Yekiso, said Hlophe. This had been a "deliberate attempt" to insult both Yekiso, who had spent sleepless nights writing the 96-page verdict, and himself.

And if you think that this is racism by calling out the crappy behaviour of some white people in the new S.A then you clearly are misguided as some fools on here who like to label me the same.

I guess they feel ashamed as well :).

Yes I agree you have never made any racist comments how can you its impossible for a black person to be racist. And its funny this article some judge clearly made the wrong judgement and now he is a racist etc.. but what about all those farm killings by black people against white people or are we not allowed to call that racist?

Oh yes if a black person kills a white person its "just" murder but when a white person kills a black person its a racist murder.

Self evident from your point of view which is with all respect not objective. If the NPA is so learned maybe they should appeal more or come prepared to court.

And Tibby - I am not you "bud"

Bud is a botanical term.
Bud is a nickname for the United States beer called Budweiser, which is made by Anheuser-Busch.
Bud can also refer specifically to the most potent part (the bud) of the plant in members of the genus Cannabis, a mildly psychedelic plant. Though not technically slang, this usage of the term is sometimes regarded as such, especially where it refers to marijuana in general. In this context, the plural is "bud" rather than "buds", and typically implies buds of female plants. Buds from the male plant are specified with "male bud".
BUD is the IATA airport code for Budapest, Hungary's International Airport
When not capitalized, bud is short for "buddy," a casual, non-committed social or sexual partner
Bud also refers to Bud, Norway, a village in western Norway.
Bud is the name of a human character in the Transformers: Cybertron cartoon series.
Bud is the name of a character in the anime series Saint Seiya.
A bud is a weaned calf in its first year, so called because the horns are then beginning to bud.

Take your pick.
